WONDERDOG (HORSES)
SARATOGA Race #2 at 1:30 PM Eastern
Top pick: #4 (SHESABRONXBOMBER) - Filly ran a good race in her debut as she spotted the field an early advantage and improved her position late to finish third to a wire-to-wire winner. Trainer Larry Rivelli (who won yesterday's fourth race) adds blinkers, and Corey Nakatani, who rode that runner is aboard. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Princess Phoebe) - First timer has some solid works showing, including a sharp gate work at Keeneland on July 9. Good out of town barn (Eric Reed) wins at a 15% clip with debuting stock and she's a threat today.
3rd pick: #8 (Bellacourt) - Filly had a terrible start in the same race as "Bomber" and raced evenly once in stride. Parobably has more talent to show and a bullet drill at Fair Hill on the July 28 suggestst that's the case.
4th pick: #5 (Erin Enchanted) - Daughter of "Lion Heart" closed very fast last out to just fail to get up in the same race as the top pick. She's been bet down to favorirism and will be again today. Win candidate, but no short-priced lock.
Del Mar Race #1 at 5:00 PM Eastern
Top pick: #1 (HEART'S MEMORY) - Debuting filly by "Bernardini" is one of a pair from trainer John Sadler (20% first out) and appears to have easily outworked her barn-mate by 8 lengths at Hollywood park on July 17. Has the rail, Sadler's main rider Rosario, and home-bred meets a weak field. The horse to beat, she runs as a separate betting interest from her stable-mate.
2nd pick: #4 (Vicki Victoria) - Daughter of "Swiss Yodeler" ran well in her first pair with blinkers on, but had a tough trip while racing wide and evenly last out when trainer Mike Harrington removed the "shades." They go back on for this and Bejarano is aboard for the first time.
3rd pick: #7 (Molly's All Heart) - She rallied to finish second at this level at Hollywood two weeks ago and is already making her 5th start. Filly by "Lion Heart" has worked here since and she draws a nice post for her style.
4th pick: #6 (Warren's Mo Money) - Home-bred finished second to a long gone winner facing "open" $40K foes June 10. Trainer Jorge Gutierrez moves her up in class and has her face fellow Cal-breds this afternoon. Stretch threat.
